Area students earn college degrees (01/19/06)

Maria Siefring, Fort Recovery, has received her bachelor’s degree in apparel merchandising and product development from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio.
Adam G. Westgerdes, Portland, recently earned a bachelor’s degree in building construction and contract from Purdue University in West Lafayette.
Brian William Baumer, Geneva, recently graduated from Purdue University, West Lafayette, with an associate’s degree in agriculture.
Dean’s list
Brenda Kaup, Fort Recovery, has made the dean’s list for the summer quarter of 2005 at The University of Northwestern Ohio college of business in Lima.
Sarah Marchand, Portland, has made the dean’s list for the fall semester of 2005 at Indiana State University in Terre Haute.
Jennifer M. Chittum, Redkey, has made the dean’s list for the first semester of 2005 at the University of Indianapolis.
Red Cross classes
The Hoosier Heartland Chapter of the American Red Cross will offer two free disaster training and orientation classes in being a Red Cross volunteer.
The first will be Friday, Jan. 27, from 2 to 3 p.m. and the second will be Tuesday, Jan. 31, from 1 to 2 p.m. The classes will be held at the Chapter Headquarters, 325 E. Washington St. in Muncie.
Also a Community First Aid & Safety class will be offered from the American Red Cross on Saturday, Jan. 28, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Those completing the class will receive certification in adult, infant and child CPR and first aid.
The cost is $50 and the class will be held at the Chapter Headquarters in Muncie.
