Area students make dean's list
Taking Note
Several area students were named to the dean's list for the 2009 fall semester at Indiana colleges.
Lee Haggenjos, Portland, was named to the dean's list at the University of Notre Dame's College of Arts and Letters. He is the son of Donna and Mark Haggenjos.

Lauren Haggenjos, Portland, was named to the dean's list at the University of Evansville. She is the daughter of Donna and Mark Haggenjos.

Shayla Shirk, Dunkirk, was named to the dean's list at Manchester College. She is a first-year mathematics education major.

Indiana University Purdue University in Fort Wayne named students to the dean's list and semester honors list.
Making both lists were Tiffani Bickel, Tracy Cline, James Heare and Sheena Hodgson, all of Portland.
Making the semester list were Patrick Cavanaugh and Michael Jobe.
Early man
A symposium, Early Man in Western Ohio: American Indian Prehistory, will be held on Saturday, February 6, at the Garst Museum in Greenville, Ohio.
There will be four speakers and a large display of prehistoric and early historic artifacts from private collectors.
The free symposium will be from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., with registration beginning at 9:30 a.m. The Garst Museum is located at 205 N. Broadway in Greenville.
