Arts Place offering free workshop (05/12/06)

Arts Place is presenting a Professional Documentation of Artwork workshop on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Mitchell Place Gallery, 301 S. Walnut Street in Muncie. The demonstration will include how to shoot professional slides. Anyone interested in the free workshop should call Tetia Lee at (260) 726-4809, ext. 230, or email [email protected].

The Area VII 4-H Share-the-Fun contest was recently held at Centerville High School for members who won at the local level. There were three acts that represented Jay County. Group act “The Streak” won first place and curtain act for a non-musical “Funky Music” placed third.
State finalists
Kyle Fortkamp, son of Paul and Ginny Fortkamp, applied for the Poultry Placement Proficiency Award for his employment at Paul Fortkamp Poultry Farm and won first place in the state.
Keith Bruns, son of Mark and Cindy Bruns, applied for the Specialty Animals Proficiency Award for his employment at Meiring Poultry and Fish Farm and place third in the state.
Nick Hemmelgarn, son of Larry and Linda Hemmelgarn, applied for the Grain Production Proficiency Award and place second in the state.
Bruce Schoen, son of Jerry and Barb Schoen, applied for the Diversified Livestock Production Proficiency Award for his employment at M & L and L & M Farms and place third in the state.
Lee Stammen, son of Jim and Ann Stammen, applied for the Swine Production Proficiency for his farrow to finish operation and placed first in the state.
Adam Sutter, son of Frank and Lisa Sutter, applied for the Ag Mechanics Design and Fabrication Proficiency Award for his employment at B & F Rental and placed third in the state.
Mechanics competition
Members of the Fort Recovery FFA Chapter competed in the Ag Mechanics competition at Greenville High School and won third place. They were judged on welding, torching, flaring, tubing, soldering, using micrometers, identifying oils and tools and small engine troubleshooting. Members competing were Kyle Brockman, Nick Grey, Andy Lochtefeld and Kyle Nietfeld.[[In-content Ad]]
