Arts Place to begin piano labs
Taking Note
Arts Place is accepting applications for the Second Grade Piano Lab to be held at Blackford County Arts, 107 W. Washington St. in Hartford City.
Labs begin on Thursday and will be held from 4 to 4:45 p.m. and 5 to 5:45 p.m. They will continue through January, but will not meet on Nov. 22, Dec. 13, 20 and 27.
Bonita Frazee, a third grade teacher at Bloomfield Elementary School and Arts Place MusicWorks instructor, will be the instructor.

Internship
Applications are being accepted for the 2013 House Republican Internship Program for the 2013 legislative session to begin in January and end in April. The program is open to undergraduate and graduate students, in all academic majors, who are interested in working for the House of Representatives at the Statehouse in Indianapolis.
The position will be Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will pay $700 bi-weekly. Interns will also be able to apply for a $3,000 Verizon scholarship.
There are four different concentrations available for interns — member services, media, computer/technology and policy/fiscal. For more information on each concentration or about the internship program, visit www.in.gov/legislative/house_republicans/intern.html.
Application deadline is Oct. 31.
Livestock expo
Gabrielle Paxson, Pennville, and Madison Clott, Bryant, have entered sheep in the junior market lamb division in the 39th annual North American International Livestock Exposition that will be held in November in Louisville, Ky.
