Author to tell story at Fort museum
Taking Note
Joe Krom, author of "Heart of a Warrior, The True Saga of Sweet Breeze and William Wells," will speak at the Fort Recovery State Museum on Sunday.
The story is told from the perspective of Sweet Breeze, the daughter of Miami Chief Little Turtle, and her husband William Wells "Carrot Top" who was a captured American boy raised as a Miami warrior.
The book also includes descriptions of the Indian life and St. Clair's 1791 Massacre on the banks of the Wabash and the 1794 Battle of Fort Recovery.

Brayden Dues, a student at East Jay Middle School, has been chosen as a United States Achievement Academy All-American Scholar At-Large Award Winner.
Dues will appear in the All-American Scholar official yearbook.
Students are chosen for their grade point average, achievements, academics and extracurricular activities.
