Bee winners announced (03/02/07)

Alice Brumfield was the winner of the geography bee recently at West Jay Middle School. She is in seventh grade and the daughter of Carlton and Brenda Brumfield.

Haley Franklin was recently named the winner of the spelling bee at West Jay Middle School. She is the daughter of Kevin and Marla Franklin and is in the eighth grade.

The runner-up was Chris Miller, also an eighth grader and the son of Jeff and Jayne Miller.

Scholarship applications

The deadline to turn in applications for the William M. Evans Scholarship is March 16.

The $2,000 scholarship will be awarded to an Indiana special education high school senior pursuing post-secondary education.
