Benedicts mark 50th
Mr. and Mrs. Ernie Benedict, 515 Blaine Pike, Portland, are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary today.
Ernie Benedict married Leona "Lee" Shaffer on Dec. 24, 1959, in Ashland, Ohio, with the Rev. H. Sheets officiating.
The couple moved to Portland in 2000 and reside with Lee's mother Donna Dale.
Lee works at Swissland Cheese Company of Berne and is a substitute nurse with the Jay School Corporation.
They are the parents of a son, Jon Benedict, St. Petersburg, Fla.; a daughter, Dr. Jeri Benedict Ph.D., Reston, Va.; two grandsons and two great-grandchildren.[[In-content Ad]]
