Longtime Jay County residentsThe Rev. and Mrs. Gene Betts, 649 N. Union St., Pennville, are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary today.
Gene married the former Naomi Sutton on Jan. 2, 1949, at Chester Center Church in Wells County by the Rev. Francis Huffman.
Gene is a retired pastor and also retired from Meshberger Brothers Stone Co.
They are the parents of Francis Betts, rural Portland, Tarlton Betts, Dunkirk, Robyn Weaver, Montpelier, and Mrs. Ken (Rhonda) Foltz, rural Bryant. They also have 12 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
