Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Bickel, 804 Sharpsburg Road, Fort Recovery, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a special service at Trinity Lutheran Church, Fort Recovery, followed by a brunch at The Tin Cupboard with family on May 25. An open house was held later in the day at the couple’s home.
Ernest married Onnalee Green in a ceremony presided over by the Rev. Dennis Honn on May 22, 1943. Helen Slick, sister of the groom served as maid of honor and Paul Green, brother of the bride, was best man.
They are the parents of Roger Bickel, St. Louis, Mo.; Mrs. Dick (Janice) Fiely and Mrs. Ron (Karen) Ranly, both of Fort Recovery. They are the grandparents of seven and the great-grandparents of five.
The Bickels have lived in the Fort Recovery area for over 60 years and they are both retired from Westinghouse Corp., Union City, Ohio.[[In-content Ad]]
