Blackfords celebrate 50th (09/06/2008)
Jay County residents Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Blackford, Portland, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Sunday.
Ralph married Susan Beard on Sept. 7, 1958, at the West Walnut Street Church of Christ in Portland.
Susan retired as a bookkeeper and salesperson from Stewart Brothers Furniture in Dunkirk in 2005. Ralph retired from the United States Coast Guard as storeroom chief in 1976 and from Jay County Hospital, as storeroom manager, in 1989.
They are the parents of two children, Mrs. Bill (Barbara) Caster and David Blackford, both of Portland. They have five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.[[In-content Ad]]
