Blood drive set at JCHS (01/31/2009)
Taking Note
The Hoosier Heartland Chapter of the American Red Cross will have a blood drive for faculty and students at Jay County High School on Friday, Feb. 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Donors should be at least 17 years old, have photo identification, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good general health.

4-H deadline
Jay County 4-H enrollment deadline is Friday, Feb. 6.
Enrollment may be done online at www.ces.purdue.edu/jay/ or by picking up a form at the Purdue Extension office Monday through Friday from 8:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Farmer workshops
Jay County Purdue Extension, Jay/Delaware County Soil and Water District and Ball Brothers Foundation will sponsor a Farmer Concerns Workshop on Tuesday, Feb. 10.
The workshop will begin at noon at the Jay County 4-H Building in Portland. The topics will be "Saving Money through Energy Efficiency for Farmers" by Darrell Brown and "Farmer Property Tax Issues" by Dr. Larry DeBoer.

Photography group
Photographers Mary McVicker and Tisha Trice are forming a photography group in Blackford County. The group is for anyone 16 or older who is interested in photography.

Shannon O'Dell, Pennville, has made the dean's list for the fall semester of 2008 at Defiance College in Northwest Ohio.
Joel Bay, Fort Recovery, has made the dean's list for the Nov. 2008 session at the University of Northwestern Ohio College of Technologies.
Carla Guggenbiller, Fort Recovery, has made the dean's list for the 2008 fall quarter at Rhodes State College.
