Blount joins Fuqua staff (5/17/03)

Jim Blount of Portland recently joined the sales department of Fuqua Chrysler Dodge Jeep in Dunkirk.
He is a sales representative in both the new and used cars departments.
Blount previously worked in sales, as well as the service and parts department, at Fuqua several years ago.
PLANT MANAGER FORUM
There will be a plant manager forum on June 11, at 7 a.m., at Createc Inc., 1619 N. Meridian St., Portland.
A representative from the U.S. Department of Labor will attend the meeting to discuss the Family Medical Leave Act, in addition to discussion about other programs and problems that may be addressed.
ATTENDS CONFERENCE
Bryan Alexander of Portland recently attended Mutual Service Corporation’s (MSC) gala 2003 National Conference in Washington, D.C. Alexander was one of about 400 financial service professionals from across the country that attended the conference.
MSC presented a number of speakers who covered topics in the financial industry, including the state of the economy, estate planning, financial office management and motivation.
Author, columnist and television personality George Will was the keynote speaker and shared his views of tomorrow’s economy and how recent U.S. military stance might affect local business.
ACCREDITED
Ivy Tech State College has received an eight-year accreditation for both its associate of science and practical nursing programs from the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission.
The NLNAC cited the leadership of Ivy Tech’s statewide nursing program administrator, Janet Kramer, and the support of the college administration in organizing multiple programs across the state into one comprehensive nursing education unit.
The college will submit an interim report to the NLNAC in two years, and the commission’s next evaluation visit is scheduled for fall of 2010.

The East Central Indiana Workforce Investment Board Budget and Administration Committee will meet Monday, May 19, from 8 to 9:30 a.m., in the WorkOne office first floor training room, 201 E. Charles St., Muncie.
The agenda includes a quarterly financial review, audit and monitoring updates, work plan and budget recommendation, and update on the regional skill alliance grant and other business.[[In-content Ad]]
