Bluegrass jam coming to Limberlost (06/15/06)

Limberlost State Historic Site in Geneva will host a bluegrass jam on Sunday, June 18, from 2 to 4 p.m. Musicians are welcome to bring their instruments and perform solo or jam with others.
Admission is free and guests are asked to bring their lawn chairs. Also guided tours of the Limberlost Cabin will be available and the gift shop will be open.

Open house
The Jay County Historical Museum, 903 E. Main St., Portland, will have an open house on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m.
Portland memorabilia will be displayed.
English class
The Jay County Public Library will offer an English as a second language class beginning Tuesday, June 20, and continuing through Aug. 15.
The free class will meet from 6 to 7:30 p.m. for anyone who speaks Spanish.
There will be no class on July 4 and July 11. For more information, call the library at (260) 726-7890.
Senior nominees
The Cincinnatus League of Portland wishes to recognize senior citizens who have made significant contributions to the Jay County community. The seniors will be recognized at the Jay County Fair on Wednesday, July 26.
Anyone who has a senior to nominate may send the nomination to Cincinnatus League, P.O. Box 513, Portland, IN 47371 by July 1.

LifeStream banquet
LifeStream will have its annual awards of excellence luncheon on Wednesday, June 28, at the InterUrban Hall in the Horizon Convention Center, 401 S. High Street, Muncie.
A silent auction and reception begins at 11 a.m. and lunch and a program starts at noon.
