John and Barbara Bright, 704 E. High St., Portland, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Monday.
John married Barbara Chew on Oct. 24, 1951, in Decatur.
Barbara worked at First National Bank in Portland and retired from the assessor’s office at the Jay County Courthouse.
John was a high school teacher and basketball coach for 30 years.
They are the parents of Bill Bright, Fresno, Calif., Gay Jobe (husband: Joe), rural Portland, Bonnie Sabo (husband: Mike), Novi, Mich., and Becky Thornburg (husband: Steve), Westchester, Ohio. They also have eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.[[In-content Ad]]
