Bring pets to Limberlost
Taking Note
Limberlost State Historic Site in Geneva is having an event that will benefit the Jay County Animal Shelter.
Porter, Pets and Poetry will take place Saturday, Aug. 20, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the cabin in Geneva.
Participants can learn about Gene Stratton-Porter’s poetry and photography and bring their pets to participate in several events, including an obstacle course, best dressed and best trick contest. All pets must be on a leash and cleaned up after.
Animals from the shelter will be available for adoption, tours will be given of the cabin and pet pictures will be taken in front of the cabin.
Dog or cat food and cash donations will be accepted. There will be a $2 charge. For more information, visit indianamuseum.org/limberlost.
Girls state
Three Fort Recovery High School students recently attended the 65th annual Buckeye Girls State event. Attending were Brenda Link, Abby Backs and Alison Koch.
Giving Circle
Julayne Ross, a registered dietitian at Jay County Hospital, and Carrie Wilcox, a community educator at JCH, will speak at the next The Portland Foundation’s Women’s Giving Circle meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 9, at 7 p.m. at Crown Pointe Communities. Bring a canned food item.[[In-content Ad]]
