Brockman receives honor (06/28/07)
Taking Note
Kyle Brockman, a member of Fort Recovery FFA, was presented with the DEKALB Agricultural Accomplishment award, Fort Recovery High School's highest agricultural honor.
Brockman received the award for excellence in academics, leadership and agricultural experience. He has received top rankings at the state level in the Dairy Judging and the Ag Engineering Contests and has held the offices of assistant vice president and vice president.
A recent graduate of Fort Recovery High School, Kyle is the son of Gary and Janet Brockman.
Graduates
Anna Culy recently graduated, Magna Cum Laude, from Taylor University in Upland with a bachelor of arts degree in history. She is a graduate of Jay County High School.

Cody Cramer recently graduated from Taylor University in Upland with a bachelor's degree in psychology. He also made the dean's list at Taylor for the spring term.
Cramer is a graduate of South Adams High School in Berne and the son of David Cramer, Portland, and Cinda Cramer, Decatur.
Attends convention
Jay County FFA members recently attended the 78th Indiana FFA State Convention at Purdue University, where 19 members received their state degrees.
Members Chris Lutes and Josh Roush served as voting delegates and voted on the 2007-08 Indiana FFA State Officer Team and attended the business sessions.
Also Randy Stephen helped with entertainment during the awards luncheon.
Accepting registrations
Arts Place is now accepting registrations for fall MusicWorks lessons for students and adults. Weekly classes begin Sept. 10 and continue through May 16.
Individual lessons are available in band instruments, strings, piano, voice, guitar and harp.
Group lessons are available for Stateline Singers youth choir, Eastern Breeze Flute Ensemble, Distant Thunder Percussion Ensemble, Brassissimo! brass ensemble, Brown Paper Sax saxophone ensemble, Music Explorers, East Walnut Street Strings, Music Major Boot Camp and Music da Capo.

Receives scholarships
Students from Fort Recovery High School who were enrolled in a vocational program through the high school or Tri-Star Career Compact, were awarded vocational scholarships.
Receiving scholarships were Kyle Brockman, David Fortkamp, Matt Lochtefeld, Betsy Overman, Elizabeth Schoenherr, Craig Sutter and Adam Tobe.
Corn hole tournament
