Bruns to fill new position (12/13/06)

FORT RECOVERY - Joe Bruns was hired by the Fort Recovery Local Schools Board as assistant athletic director Tuesday for the 2006-2007 school year.

Bruns is the first person to fill the newly-created position.

The board set its organizational meeting and budget hearing for Jan. 9, with the organizational meeting set to start at 7 p.m. and the budget hearing at 7:15 p.m.

In other business, the board:

• Approved a trip by the girls' basketball team to "The Classic in the Country" at Hiland on Jan. 13 to 15.

• Appointed Dan Jutte as the 2007 Ohio School Boards Association legislative liaison and renewed membership with the association.

• Set board compensation at $80 per meet for 16 meetings.

• Appointed Steve Wendel as student achievement liaison.

• Accepted Trisha Westgerdes as a volunteer junior high girls basketball coach and Jackie Griffin as volunteer winter guard instructor.[[In-content Ad]]
