Camp for kids scheduled

Camp Minnetrista: Countdown to Ice Age will be held Jan. 2 and 3 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Minnetrista in Muncie. Camp-ers will build their own dinosaur, dig for fossils, make plaster footprints and create personalized ice art. The cost is $35 per day. For more information, call (765) 282-4848.
Grief group
State of the Heart Hospice will offer the final holiday grief support group on Jan. 7 from 3 to 4 p.m. at the Portland office at 1237 W. Ind. 67.

The Couponing Club will meet Jan. 7 at Jay County Public Library at 6 p.m. Trade tips and tricks of the trade and swap coupons.
Story Time for preschoolers will be held Monday, Jan. 7, 14, 21 and 28 at 11:15 a.m. with Miss Linda and Tuesday, Jan. 8, 15, 22 and 29 at 11:15 a.m. with Miss Mary at JCPL.
Mother Goose will visit with toddlers and infants on Jan. 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31 at 9:15 a.m.
Self Defense 101 will be held on Jan. 9 from 6 to 8 p.m. with Vickie Daniels from Judan Judo. She will teach hands-on instruction in self-defense. Wear comfortable clothing and those younger than 18 should have a parent or legal guardian with them to sign a waiver.

Gardener class
A Purdue Master Gardener Intern Class will begin in January. The class is for anyone who enjoys gardening, wants to learn more about horticulture and give back to the community.
Classes will be held each Thursday from Jan. 31 through April 25 from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Jay County 4-H Building.
The cost is $95 per person or $150 for a couple sharing one set of materials. Registration deadline is Jan. 18, but please register as soon as possible. For more information, call Larry Temple at (260) 726-4707 or email [email protected].

Lynette K. Waters, of Hartford City, will have an exhibit at Arts Place beginning Jan. 7.
She is a midwestern artist working in mixed media on canvas and panel.
