Campbells to celebrate 70th (12/20/05)

Mr. and Mrs. Orla Campbell, 7454 North 250 East, Bryant, will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary on Dec. 24.

Orla and Sara Haley were married on Dec. 24, 1935, by the Rev. J.O. Lewis at the home of Sara’s parents, Vern and Wilma Haley.

Longtime Jay County residents, Sara is a housewife and Orla is a farmer.

They are the parents of six surviving children, Mrs. Don (Carol) Hausmann, South Pittsburg, Tenn.; Edward Campbell, Brighton, Mich.; Alan Campbell, Berne; Jon Campbell and Mrs. Larry (Susie) Myers, both of Bryant; and Steve Campbell, Fort Wayne.

They also have 21 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Friends and relatives are invited to celebrate with the couple at an open house on Saturday, Dec. 24, from 3 to 5:30 p.m. at the Westchester United Methodist Church, 4487 East 400 North, Portland. They ask that gifts be omitted.[[In-content Ad]]
