Cancer Society to sell daffodils (3/3/05)
Taking Note
The American Cancer Society will have its annual Daffodil Days Sale March 17 and 18.
Daffodils represent a symbol of hope in the fight against cancer for the American Cancer Society and the money raised helps fund research, education, and patient services in Jay County.
Businesses ordering five bunches or more may have the daffodils delivered. Businesses or individuals ordering fewer than five bunches may pick up daffodils at First National Bank in Portland on Thursday, March 17, from 1 to 3 p.m. or at the City Hall in Dunkirk on Friday, March 18, from 1 to 3 p.m.

PIANO WINNERS
Three piano students of Wanda Hall, Portland, recently received gold medals at the Indiana School Music Auditions in Muncie.
Jay County High School sophomore Amanda Alberson got her award for her performance of Misty Night Blues by Martha Mier. Senior Hanna Ma, an exchange student from South Korea, performed Moonlight Sonata by Beethoven and Kyle Prifogle played Chopin’s Fantasie Inprompto.
Prifogle has also been accepted at Butler University’s music department for piano performance. All three are JCHS band members.
CHILDREN’S MUSEUM
Two bunny brunches will be held at the Muncie Children’s Museum on Saturday, March 12, at 9 and 11 a.m.
Children, ages 2 to 8, will participate in activities, make crafts, hear a story, have a scavenger hunt and meet and have their picture taken with the Easter Bunny. The cost is $25.
The Muncie Children’s Museum will present four different camps this summer. Wacky art camp will be July 11 through 15, followed by building fun and games camp will be July 18 through 22, around the world camp from July 25 through the 29 and acting up camp Aug. 1 through 5.
The camps will be from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. each day with free play in the museum until 5 p.m. Participants must bring a sack lunch, but snacks will be provided.
There will be a discount for those who register before March 31.

The museum is located at 515 S. High St. in Muncie. Regular museum hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m.
PIZZA PARTY
Indiana Farm Bureau District 4 will have a spring pizza party on Thursday, March 10, at Kokomo Zion United Methodist Church, 5051 East 400 North. Dr. Bret Marsh, from the state board of animal health, will be the guest speaker.

SHOW IN AUBURN
The 11th annual Winter Tractor and Engine Show will be held in Auburn on Friday, March 18 through Sunday, March 20.
The show will be held indoors at the Kruse Auction Park, which is located at the intersection of I-69 and County Road 11A.
The hours are Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
More than 200 tractors and 50 gas engines will be on display. Admission will also include a pass to the National Automative and Truck Museum of the United States.
