Carducci is named honored student
Taking Note
Jessica Carducci, a senior at Jay County High School, has been named a commended student in the 2010 National Merit Scholarship Program.
Commended students placed among the top five percent of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2010 competition by taking the 2008 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
After school special
Jay County Public Library will have an after school special on Friday from 2:45 to 4 p.m. for kindergarten through 5th grade students. There will be a snack, a story shared and a Halloween and fall craft will be completed.

Archaeology Festival
The Fort Recovery Family Fun Archaeology Festival will be held Sunday at the Fort Recovery State Museum Site from noon until 4 p.m.
Jim Miller, a modern day flint knapper will demonstrate how to make arrowheads, spear points, knives and scrapers the same way Indians made them thousands of years ago.

Noble reunion
Noble Township Elementary School, located east of Portland on Ind. 26, will hold its first reunion of former students.
The reunion will be held Sunday, Oct. 11, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Lions Club Civic Center, 307 East 100 North, Portland.
Anyone attending is asked to bring momentos from their school days. Refreshments will be served.
