Cavs top Indians in three

FORT RECOVERY — The Indians played a close opening game, but couldn’t keep up with their conference rivals.
Fort Recovery High School’s volleyball team slipped to 1-5 in the Midwest Athletic Conference with a 25-22, 25-13, 25-13 loss Thursday to the Coldwater Cavaliers.
Cassidy Rammel totaled six assists, six digs, four kills, three blocks and three service points for the Indians (4-9). Kelsey Fiely added 12 digs and three service points.
Kendra Siefring had four kills, and Tori Lennartz totaled three blocks.
The FRHS junior varsity squad lost 25-12, 25-18. Rachel Pugh had nine digs, nine service points and two assists.
7th stays perfect
FORT RECOVERY — Ryan Braun led the Fort Recovery Middle School seventh grade football team to its sixth straight win Thursday, 24-0 over the New Bremen Cardinals. The eighth grade team won 30-0.
Braun tossed a 25-yard touchdown pass to Evan Post and scored on a 26-yard TD run for the Indians (6-0). Aaron Homan added a 5-yard TD run.
Cole Dues scored on TD runs of 48 and 46 yards for the FRMS eighth graders (4-2). Caleb Martin tossed TD passes of 7 yards to Evan Post and 48 yards to Travis Sutter, and Jason Roessner added a 34-yard TD run.
Spikers fall to Flyers
FORT RECOVERY — The Fort Recovery eighth grade volleyball team lost 25-11, 25-7 Thursday to the Marion Local Flyers. The seventh graders lost 25-16, 25-21.
Devin Post finished with five kills, two assists, one block, one dig and one service point for the eighth grade team (4-11, 0-7 Midwest Athletic Conference). Renee Kuess had five service points and one kill.
Grace Thien totaled eight service points, one kill and one block for the seventh grade squad (9-6, 3-4 MAC). Kelsey Jutte added four service points and two kills.
