Celebrating 50 years together
Jerry M. and Darlene Bailey, Berne, are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 17, at the South Adams Senior Center in Berne.
Jerry married Darlene Smitley on May 23, 1964, at Bethel Brethren Church in Berne.
The couple lived in Bluffton for 31 years. Darlene retired from Midwest Medical Copy Services and Jerry, a former Portland resident, taught school at Governor IP Gray and Dunkirk high schools and retired from Marion Community Schools.
They are the parents of Brian Bailey (wife: Lisa), Goshen, and Chad Bailey (wife: Rebecca), Reidsville, N.C. They also have four grandchildren.
