Central States to expand (03/15/08)
Business roundup
Central States Enterprises, Montpelier, is planning a $170 million expansion that will create 35 additional jobs.
The company plans to create bio-fuels and add grain storage. Along with the expansion, the company will need a longer railroad.
The new jobs are expected to pay between $13 and $18 per hour, depending on skill level. The expansion is expected to take about two years to complete.
Contract awarded
The Swiss Village Board of Directors has awarded a contract for the construction of the Arthur and Gloria Muselman Wellness Pavilion.
Those chosen to complete the project include Limberlost Construction, Shambaugh and Sons, L and L Electric, Tom Jones Construction and LICA Construction. Fanning and Howey of Celina, Ohio, was chosen to oversee the architectural and engineering work. Based on the bids, total construction of the project was estimated at $3.5 million.
The 21,200-square foot wellness pavilion will have an aquatic center, strength building facilities, floor exercise space, a game room and a lounge.
It is named in honor of the Muselmans, who provided the lead gift for the center and were advocates for the project.[[In-content Ad]]
