Chicago dance group to be at Arts Place

Thodos Dance from Chicago will perform on Saturday, April 10, at 7:30 p.m. at Arts Place, 131 E. Walnut St. in Portland.

The contemporary dance group has been called "Breathtakingly athletic" and "powerfully beautiful."

A free Jazz Dance Technique class will be given Saturday, April 10, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Arts Place.

Dean's list

Two students from Portland have made the dean's list at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute for the winter quarter.

Jessica Muhlenkamp is a junior majoring in civil engineering. She is the daughter of Allen and Theresa Muhlenkamp.

Jacob Schmidt is a junior majoring in software engineering. He is the son of Gary and Diane Schmidt.

Michelle Gehret and Wes Kahlig from Fort Recovery have made the dean's list for the fall semester at the University of Dayton.

Joanna Snyder has made the dean's list at Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio, for the winter quarter.

She is the daughter of Edward and Laura Snyder.

First place

Xander Pero, 9, Deerfield, won first place at the Pokemon Trading Card Game Wisconsin State Championships. He will travel to the National Championship in June.[[In-content Ad]]
