UNION CITY — The East Jay Middle School wrestling team had eight wrestlers pick up a pair of victories Tuesday, as the Chiefs topped Randolph Southern and Union City in a double dual meet.
East Jay dominated Randolph Southern 99-0 and beat Union City 81-14.
Ian Liette, Davis Anderson, Hunter Mills, Thomas Hemmelgarn, Ben Antrim, Daniel Ostrowski, Nathanial Lykins and Jacob Ferguson all won both of their matches.
Picking up single victories for the Chiefs were Henry Hemmelgarn, Mitchel Frasher, Mason Winner and Kaimen Sanders.
In reserve action, Drew Simmons, Ethan Solis, Mitchel Langenkamp, Damion Resler, Cole Brotherton and Joe Hilty all won their respective matches.
Four pins in 1st
DUNKIRK — Four West Jay wrestlers earned first-period pins Tuesday as the Eagles topped Daleville, 73-24.
Malcolm McIntire, Sean Ashley, Brenden Lawborn and Mitchell Ferguson all pinned their opponents in the first two minutes.
Gavin Corwin, Danny Kilgore and Nathan Hamilton earned a victory by pin in the second period.
Ryan Hough won by a 6-4 decision, and Chase Gillette won by a major decision, 15-6.
Devin Wagner, Logan Drumm, Dawson Segler, Larkin Alsip and Nick Overla all won by forfeit.
In reserve action, Ryan Hough pinned his opponent in 2:41.
Eagles drop pair
HARTFORD CITY — Dylan Bowler scored 14 points to lead the West Jay sixth grade boys basketball B team in a 43-23 loss to Blackford.
The WJMS A team also lost, 50-20.
Peyton Nichols scored five points in support of Bowler, and Dylan Bland and Joey Littler each tallied two.
For the West Jay A team, Storm McLaughlin had a team-high seven points.
Trevon Vore scored five points to go with his team-high 11 rebounds, and Evan Lowe recorded four points.[[In-content Ad]]
