Class for seniors to be held at JCPL

New Year, New You is a one day event to provide tools and tips to help seniors live  healthier.
The event will be held from 10 a.m until noon on Thursday, Jan. 26, at Jay County Public Library, 315 N. Ship St. in Portland.
Seniors and family caregivers are invited to the program that will include informative discussions, workshops and a healthy cooking demonstration.

CPR classes
The Portland Fire Department is planning to offer CPR classes at the provider level and for the  public. Anyone wishing to register for classes, may call Chad Aker at (260) 726-4500.

4-H deadline
The enrollment deadline for Jay County 4-H is Friday, Feb. 3. There will be a $15 state fee. To register online, see www.ces.purdue.edu/jay/ or visit the 4-H Enrollment Fun Night on Tuesday, Jan. 24, at the 4-H Exhibit Hall from 5:30 to 7 p.m. or call (260) 726-4707.  

K enrollment
The South Adams School system would like to get an estimate of kindergarten enrollment for next fall by Feb. 20. Students must be five years old before August 1 to enroll.
