Class of '88 planning reunion (01/03/07)

Members of the Jay County High School class of 1988 are making plans for their 20th reunion and are trying to contact classmates.

Hearthside suppers

Conner Prairie's Hearthside Suppers allow guests to warm up by a blazing fire and enjoy a 19th century cooking experience in the kitchen of the historic 1823 William Conner home. Suppers will include baked hind quarter of shoat, chicken capilotade, chicken soup, potatoes, dilled pickled green beans, brandied peaches, applesauce, biscuits, apple butter, cheesecake with fruit sauce, popcorn, cheese, water wafers and drinks.

Suppers will be offered Jan. 4, 5 and 6, 11, 12 and 13, 18, 19 and 20, and 25, 26 and 27. They will also be offered in February and March. Prepaid reservations are required and meals are $45 per person.

Polar Express

Polar Express Holiday Showcase will be at the Botanical Conservatory, 1100 S. Calhoun St. in Fort Wayne through Sunday. An imaginary journey will be taken to the North Pole with a life-size train car set in a sea of snowy-white poinsettias.
