Clinic open next week (5/9/03)

Taking Note

The Jay County Well Child Clinic, 521 S. Wayne St., Portland, will be open Tuesday, May 20, from 4 to 8 p.m.

The clinic is open to Jay County residents only and services include; youth and children physical examinations; TB tests; lead screenings; and children’s developmental delay screenings.

Appointments are required for physical exams and TB tests.

The clinic is available to those who have no insurance or are underinsured. Medicaid services are not available. A sliding fee scale of up to $20 may be assessed depending on family income.

ART EXHIBIT

The exhibit, Dreamscapes, will open Saturday, May 17 at the Farmland Community and Cultural Center Gallery, 103 N. Main St., Farmland.

A reception will be held May 17 from 4-7 p.m., at the gallery for a chance to meet the artists. Complimentary light snacks and refreshments will be served.

The exhibit is of mixed media artworks by Christa Barnell, a Randolph County native, and art-quilts by Catherine Chmiel-Goetzinger.

Barnell, daughter of a long-time art teacher at Winchester High School, has received numerous awards and honors in juried exhibits of the Randolph County Art Association. She recently received her bachelor of fine arts degree from the University of St. Francis.

Chmiel-Goetzinger is a graduate of the Herron School of Art in Indianapolis with a bachelor’s degree of Fine Arts in painting and printmaking.

Dreamscapes will be on display until Saturday, July 5. Gallery hours are Tuesday and Wednesday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Thursday-Saturday, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.[[In-content Ad]]
