A big third inning powered Coldwater over Fort Recovery’s varsity baseball squad Friday 8-3.
The Cavaliers out-hit the Indians 9-6, while Fort Recovery gave up two errors.
Bobby Rammel and Todd Post had two hits apiece for the Indians, with each getting a single and a double.
In JV action, it was Coldwater 14, Fort Recovery 3. Curt Heitkamp and David Schmitt singled, while Jordan Staugler had a double.

The Starfires’ hot start to the softball season cooled off suddenly Friday with a 6-0 loss to Leo.
South Adams had been 3-0 going into Friday’s game, but now falls to 3-1 and 1-1 in the conference. Leo picked up 7 hits, while South Adams committed 6 errors.
In JV action, South Adams shellacked Leo 7-0.
Indians victorious
Fort Recovery won its co-ed invitational track and field competition Friday.
Team totals had the Indians on top with 87 points. Triad was second with 71, Riverside third with 40 and Bradford fourth with 34.
First-place finishes went to the Fort Recovery 4X8 relay team of Jim Roessner, Sam Bihn, Eric Lamm, and Stefanie Schuessler, the sprint medley team of Kristi Westgerdes, Vicki Roessner, Stan Roessner, and Shawn Stein, the distance medley team of Lindsay Sudhoff, Stefanie Schuessler, Steve Gaerke, and Mitch Fullenkamp, the 4X1 relay team of Vicki Roessner, Kristi Westgerdes, Joel Bey, and Michael Trobridge, the middle distance team of Eric Lamm, Mindy Vogel, Mitch Fullenkamp, and Vicki Roessner, and the 4x4 relay team of Mindy Vogel, Stefanie Schuessler, Shawn Stein, and Matt Vagedes.[[In-content Ad]]
