Dunkirk's fourth annual Community Social will be held Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. at Dunkirk City Park.
All activities will be free and include a Moon Walk, face-painting, games, sack races, a dunk tank, a cookie walk, Best of the Midwest Chili Contest, pie tasting contest and swimming at the Dunkirk City Pool.
Free food will include hot dogs, lemonade, freeze pops, popcorn and nachos.
At 5 p.m. there will be drawings for door prizes.
From 5:30 to 9 p.m. will be a jam session in the shelter house for anyone wanting to play music or sing.
Tea party
The eighth annual Limberlost Tea Party will be held Saturday, Aug. 9, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Limberlost Cabin in Geneva.
The tea honors and celebrates the birthday of author Gene Stratton-Porter who was born on Aug. 17, 1863.
Entertainment will be provided by the Mossburg Strings.
Ladies are encouraged to wear Victorian style hats and there will be a hat contest and door prizes.
The tea is a fundraiser for the proposed new Limberlost Visitor Center and tickets are $20. They are available by calling (260) 368-7428.[[In-content Ad]]
