Earnings up
Raymond James Financial Inc. this week reported net revenues of $1.11 billion for the third fiscal quarter of 2013, up two percent from the same quarter last year. The company reported net income for the quarter of $84 million, up seven percent from the same quarter in 2012.
“Most of our businesses performed as expected in the June quarter with the exception of Fixed Income,” said chief executive officer Paul Reilly in a prepared statement. “An upsurge in interest rates in June resulted in trading losses despite lower inventory levels.”

Receive funds
The Randolph County Airport has received grants from the Federal Aviation Administration and the Indiana Department of Transportation funding about $2 million in reconstruction work on the airplane parking area and refueling station.

Higher earnings
Old National Bancorp reported second quarter earnings this week of $28.5 million, a five percent increase over the same period in 2012.
The Evansville-based holding company maintains a branch in Portland.

Steps down
Sheree Barkley stepped down from the job of executive director of the Berne Chamber of Commerce this month following the Swiss Days festival.
The Berne chamber board has begun a search process for Barkley’s success and expressed regret that Barkley is leaving the job.

Franklin earnings
Franklin Electric Co. Inc of Bluffton has reported second quarter sales of $263.4 million, up seven percent from the same quarter in fiscal 2012. Diluted earnings per share were up 12 percent to 58 cents per share, the highest for any quarter in the company’s history.
“This record performance reflects the successful implementation of … the company’s long-term strategies,” said Franklin chairman and chief executive Scott Trumbull in a prepared statement.

Ivy Tech No. 1
The Manufacturing Skill Standards Council, an independent training and assessment organization, has rated Ivy Tech Community College as the leading state for the number of certifications awarded in 2012.
Indiana led the nation in the number of MSSC certifications awarded, with Ohio ranked number two.
