Cooking demos to be held
Taking note
Linda Heitkamp, Family Nutrition Program assistant at Purdue Extension, will present three cooking demonstrations in Jay County.
The first will be held Monday, Nov. 2, at 11 a.m. in the West Jay Community Center in Dunkirk.
The next will be Wednesday, Nov. 4, at 11 a.m. at Community and Family Services.
The third demonstration will be Tuesday, Nov. 10, at 11 a.m. at the Lions Community Center in Pennville.

New president
Patrick Miller, Portland, was elected as the new president of Arts Place, Inc. at the recent annual membership meeting. Miller has been a board member since 2004 and replaces Margie Jetter.
Other officers elected were Rebecca Hinkle, Portland, first vice president; Connie Roberts, Portland, second vice president; James S. Forcum, Hartford City, treasurer; and Margie Jetter, Portland, secretary.
Elected to the board were Jeanne Frank, Carol Trimmer, Mindy Weaver, Sara Farris, Margie Jetter and Connie Roberts.
Other board members are Daniel Orr, Lynette Waters-Whitesell, Annemarie McClung andGretchen Young,
