Couple celebrates 50th (08/29/07)
Mr. and Mrs. Duane Weesner, 2423 South 300 East, Portland, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Sunday with an open house at Fairview United Methodist Church, 2875 East 200 South, Portland, from 1 to 4 p.m.
Duane and Frances were married on Sept. 8, 1957.
Frances served as Jay County treasurer and retired from Jay Garment Company as director of pattern design. Duane is a farmer and a retired bus driver for the Jay School Corporation.
The couple are the parents of Mrs. Jeff (Beth) Stephen and Mrs. Jeff (Nancy) Snyder, both of Portland, and Dr. Gary Weesner, Lafayette. They have eight grandchildren.
