Couple celebrates 50th (10/26/07)
Mr. and Mrs. Francis Harris, 919 W. Race St., Portland, are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary today.
Francis married Martha June Hartley on Oct. 26, 1957.
Martha retired as an LPN. Francis retired from the Portland Fire Department after 32 1/2 years and continues to work part-time at Strohl Appliance and Electronics, Portland, where he began on Sept. 1, 1955.
They are the parents of Rodney Lee Harris, Chicago, Ronald Jay Harris, Indianapolis, Donald Ray Harris, Bluffton, Rebecca Ann Harris, Portland, and the late Randal Eugene Harris. They have nine grandchildren.
The children would like to honor their parents with a card shower. Cards may be sent to the couple's Portland home.[[In-content Ad]]
