Couple celebrating 60th (03/27/08)
Mr. and Mrs. John Barrett, 903 E. Arch St., Portland, are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary today.
John married Janet L. Browne on March 27, 1948, at the First Presbyterian Church in Portland with the Rev. Ed McCance officiating.
Janet is a retired nurse, having worked for Dr. A.C. Badders, Jay County Hospital and the Jay County Health Department.
John is retired from the State Fire Marshal Office and was a member of the Portland Fire Department for 35 years.
They are the parents of three children, Beth Barrett, Orlando, Fla.; Mrs. Jeff (Bonnie) Badders, Portland; and Mrs. Gene (Nancy) Fields, Richmond. They have three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.[[In-content Ad]]
