The upcoming holidays will mean a couple of changes in publication times for The Commercial Review.
Editor and publisher Jack Ronald said plans call for publishing the Thursday, Dec. 24, edition as a morning newspaper. There will be no edition published on Christmas Day. The Saturday, Dec. 26, edition will be a morning paper as usual.
The change means that the newspaper's offices will be closed Dec. 24 in addition to Christmas and that employees and carriers will have a longer holiday weekend with their families, Ronald said.
The same approach will be used on New Year's Eve, with the Thursday, Dec. 31, edition a morning paper. There will be no edition published on New Year's Day.
The Saturday, Jan. 2, edition will be a morning paper as usual. The newspaper's offices will be closed on Dec. 31 and Jan. 1.
Annual meeting
The Jay County Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual meeting and awards banquet at the end of January.
The event will take place on Jan. 30 at Arts Place, where the chamber will present its annual awards including Citzen of the Year, Business of the Year, Industry of the Year, Lifetime Achievement and decade awards.
Double Dollars
Dollar General Corporation announced it will open new stores in Losantville and Lynn.
The new locations will be found at U.S. 36 in Losantville and on U.S. 27 in Lynn. Both stores will be more than 9,000 square feet.
Dollar General operates 325 stores in the state.
