MISUMI Group Inc. of Japan recently announced it has signed an agreement to acquire Dayton Progress and its subsidiary, PCS Company, from Connell Limited Partnership.
The acquisition, which is expected to close in November, will also include the Anchor Lamina Die Components business of Connell, known for its Danly, IEM, Lempco and Lamina brands. The Die Set and Fabrication divisions of Anchor Danly, which are not included in this acquisition, will continue to remain subsidies of Connell Limited Partnership.
Dayton Progress has a plant at 1314 N. Meridian St., Portland.
Tyson announces
audit program
Tyson Foods Inc., the parent company of Tyson Mexican Original, Portland, recently announced it is launching a program to audit the treatment of animals at the livestock and poultry farms that supply the company.
The audits — called the Tyson FarmCheck Program — have already begun on a trial basis on some of the farms that supply the company.
The company also plans to develop a Farm Animal Well-Being Research Program to review existing research and a Farm Animal Well-Being Advisory Committee to oversee the new oversight programs.
