WORKSHOP TO BE HELD

The Friends of the Montpelier Library will sponsor a Genealogy Workshop at the library on Wednesday, Aug. 18, at 6:30 p.m. The speaker will be Rhonda Stouffer, head of Indiana History and Genealogy at the Marion Public Library. She will teach ways to begin searching your family tree. For more information, call (765) 728-5969.

BALLOON RACE

On Wednesday, Aug. 11, the Giant Hot Air Balloon Race will kick off the Indiana State Fair. It will begin at 5:30 a.m. at the infield of the State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis. The race is sponsored by the Indiana Propane Gas Foundation. They will be accepting donations for the Hoosier Burn Camp.

The balloons may also be viewed tonight, at 7:15 p.m., at the Balloon Night Glow. Pilots will be on hand to answer questions. Admission and parking is free for this event.
