Business roundup
State of the Heart Home Health & Hospice will hold a dedication ceremony Tuesday at 4 p.m. in honor of their newly-acquired office space, adjacent to the existing office located at 410 W. Votaw St.
The public is invited to attend a ribbon cutting performed by the Portland Area Chamber of Commerce and prayer dedication by hospice chaplain Doug Dafoe.
Shining Star facilities
Curves of Berne and Portland have both been selected as “Shining Star” Curves facilities by Curves International.
These locations join only a handful of “Shining Star” facilities of the nearly 200 in Indiana.
The award is presented to facilities which display outstanding service, quality and adherence to Curves’ methods.
Both locations are owned by June and Roger Domingo, Portland. The Portland location is managed by Jerri Bost and the Berne facility is managed by Kathy Bauman.
Services expanding
The Muncie Delaware County Economic Development Alliance announced this week that Sage Telecom, in partnership with Omnicity Inc. is now offering high-speed wireless internet to the Muncie-Delaware County area.
Elizabeth Vandelene, vice president of the Muncie-Delaware County Economic Development Alliance, Technology Advancement, said that the access will encourage companies to locate in the community.
Do-Not Call list deadline
The next deadline to register a phone number to the state’s Do-Not Call list is Tuesday.
Numbers placed on the list by midnight EST will begin receiving benefits of the law by April 1, 2006.
Registration is not necessary for those who has previously registered and retained the same phone number.
Anyone wishing to register can visit www.in.gov/attorneygeneral or call (888) 834-9969. Registration is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Earns posthumous award
John Robinson, the late chief executive officer of Dynamic Resource Group, will be honored posthumously with this year’s Indiana Journalism Award during Ball State’s annual Journalism Awards luncheon in April.
Robinson died of cancer in January.
The award has been given every year since 1965 to honor outstanding accomplishment and service to the journalism industry.
Robinson was the CEO of the company, which publishes 15 magazines related to crafts and cooking, from 1989 until his death.
DRG publishing experienced a tenfold increase during his time in leadership. He was also an adjunct professor and supporter of Ball State’s journalism program.
Robinson was nominated by Dr. David Summer, head of Ball State’s magazine program.[[In-content Ad]]
