Delta, JCHS champs to meet (01/22/2009)

INDIANAPOLIS - Jay County High School will host the wrestling sectional tournament Jan. 31. In the new tournament format, only the winning team will advance to the team regional round.
The JCHS winner will advance to Adams Central, where it will take on the winner from the Delta sectional as determined by today's tournament draw.
The other regional semifinal match at Adams Central will pit the winners from the Carroll and New Haven sectional tournaments. The eight regional champions will move on to the team state finals Feb. 28 at Center Grove.
Advancement through the sectional round in the individual tournament will remain the same, with the top four wrestlers in each weight class advancing to the regional round.
EJMS sixth falls
The East Jay Middle School sixth grade boys basketball team slipped to 0-3 Thursday with a 45-32 loss to visiting Union City Westside.
Jared Schlosser scored 11 points for the Chiefs. Jalen Ryder followed with eight points.
Cole Guntle had 22 points in the B team's 41-10 win.[[In-content Ad]]
