Dunkirk funeral home bought by Randolph men (07/08/06)

The Dunkirk Memorial Chapel is back under local ownership after Randolph County residents Zalo Wilson Jr. and Kenneth Shook acquired the chapel on April 17.
Also acquired by the pair were the Thornburg Funeral Home in Parker City, Fraze Brooks Funeral Home in Union City and Thomas Funeral Home in Lynn. The homes were previously owned by Brook Agency, Inc.
Wilson graduated from Winchester High School in 1982 and holds an associate’s degree in funeral service education from Vincennes University. He received his Indiana funeral director’s license in 1988.
Shook is a 1978 graduate of Southside High School and has worked in the funeral services industry since 1994.
“We will work with each family in meeting their specific funeral service needs,” Wilson said.
“We are committed to provide personalized services and products to support families in celebrating life.”
Leaves CR
Beth A. Clayton, who joined the staff of The Commercial Review in January, has returned to Indianapolis to take a job there.
While with The CR, Clayton covered the educational beat along with other assignments.
Her final day with The Commercial Review was Friday, June 30.
Earns promotion
Deanna Norris, a resident of Pennville, was recently promoted to the Two-Star Special Team Leader level with AtHome America, a direct seller of home-decorating accents and furnishings.
In order to reach that level, HomeStyle specialists must reach certain levels in their personal sales and team sales, as well as add new members to build their teams.
She has been a part of the company since May 30, 2005, providing services to this area.

Marsh Supermarkets Inc. reported a net loss for the fiscal year 2006 of $40.2 million ($5.09 per diluted share), compared to net income of $4.2 million ($0.52 per diluted share) last year.
Net loss for the fourth quarter of 2006 was $27.9 million ($3.53 per diluted share) in comparison to a net loss of $1.4 million ($0.18 per diluted share) for the fourth quarter of 2005.
On May 2 the company signed a definitive merger agreement to be acquired by MSH Supermarkets Holding Corporation, an affiliate of Sun Capital Partners Group IV Inc.
Total assets decreased from $546,868 on April 2, 2005 to $519,971 on April 1, 2006.
Marsh Supermarkets Inc. owns and operates 38 LoBill Food stories and 154 Village Pantry convenience stores in addition to 69 March supermarkets in Indiana and western Ohio. There is a LoBill Foods and Village Pantry in Portland.[[In-content Ad]]
