GENEVA - The Eagles had just enough.
West Jay Middle School's seventh grade boys basketball team eked out a victory Tuesday, edging the host South Adams Starfires 32-31.
Tyler Back powered the Eagle victory with 12 points, and Blake Crouch joined him in double figures with 10. Jason Farmer finished with six points.
South Adams' Blake Fox was the top scorer in the game with 13 points. Chase Mosser added 11 points for the Starfires.
Chiefs win openers
The East Jay Middle School boys basketball teams got off to great starts Tuesday, each scoring double-digit victories.
The eighth grade squad dominated the Adams Central Flying Jets 50-32, and the seventh grade team rolled to a 44-21 victory.
Dillon Ainsworth was the top Chief scorer on the evening, leading the eighth graders with 16 points. Jordan McBride had 12 points, and Matt Landfair added seven.
Brock McFarland powered the EJMS seventh graders with 13 points. Cade Price scored seven points, and Kegan Comer and Skyler Prescott each added six.[[In-content Ad]]
