East Jay Middle School seventh grader Cody Monroe won first place in the EJMS S.T.A.R.T. Club’s Just Say No poster contest for Red Ribbon Week.
Six grader Megan Taylor won second place and third place went to sixth grader Sterling Taylor.
Cash prizes will be awarded to these students.
SENIOR BREAKFAST
Fort Recovery Elementary /Middle School will recognize area senior citizens with a breakfast on Wednesday, Nov. 10, at 9 a.m. in the school auditeria.
A special Veterans Day program will follow at 10 a.m. in the gymnasium, featuring the middle school show choir, vocalist Marissa Minor and the Fort Recovery Hand Bell Choir.
Any senior citizen interested in attending the free breakfast can call Nancy Reinhard at (419) 375-2815 by Nov. 5.
MINNETRISTA EVENTS
The S is for snake program will be on Tuesday, Nov. 9, from 9 to 10 a.m. and again from 4 to 5 p.m. at Minnetrista Cultural Center in Muncie.
Meet a snake and learn how they survive cold Indiana winters.
The event costs $5 per child, accompanied by an adult. Registration is required by Tuesday, Nov. 2.
Painting with oils will be Wednesday, Nov. 10, and Thursday, Nov. 11, from 4 to 5 p.m. Participants will then experiment using their technique to create their own oil painting.
Wear old clothes.
Cost is $5 per child and registration is required by Wednesday, Nov. 3, for the first class and Thursday, Nov. 4, for the second class.

AWARDS BANQUET
Indiana Farm Bureau, Inc. District 4 will have an achievement banquet on Thursday, Nov. 11, at 6:30 p.m. in the commons area at Taylor University in Upland.
Reservations may be made by contacting Steve Palmer by Tuesday, Nov. 2.
The state convention will take place at the Convention Center in Indianapolis on Friday, Dec. 17 and Saturday, Dec. 18.[[In-content Ad]]
