East Jay open house set
Taking Note
An open house will be held Monday at 6:30 p.m. at East Jay Middle School featuring student writing portfolios.
The portfolios will include student newspaper articles, free writes, student letters, essays, student analysis and perspectives of video clips and extended writings for ISTEP and preps.
Egg event
The children’s department at Berne Public Library will have an Egg-Stravaganza at 6:30 p.m. today at the library for preschool through second grade students.
There will stories, games and egg decorating.

Fort registration
Registration for the 2011-2012 school year for Fort Recovery Public Preschool will be held on Tuesday, May 3, at 7 p.m. at Fort Recovery Elementary/Middle School Auditeria.
A copy of the child’s birth certificate, shot record and social security card will be required.

The Stateline Writers Club will meet Saturday at 10 a.m. at Celina Mercer County Library. Members will be asked to tell why they joined the club and what benefits they have received from membership.

A guided tour of the Loblolly Marsh will be held Saturday, May 7 and will continue the first Saturday of each month through September.
Orientation will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the Limberlost State Historic Site in Geneva. The cost is $2.

Alan D. Gaff will speak Sunday, May 1, on “Bayonets in the Wilderness” at the Fort Recovery Historical Museum.
Book fair
A spring book fair will be held Monday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the auditorium at Swiss Village Retirement Community in Berne.
