Eastbrook tops Starfires (11/22/2008)

Local roundup

BERNE - Points were at a premium Friday night. So when the Starfires didn't get any in the first quarter, they were in trouble.

South Adams High School's girls basketball team trailed throughout, falling 29-22 to the visiting Eastbrook Panthers.

SAHS trailed 7-0 after the opening quarter and fell behind by 10 at halftime. They closed the gap in the third, but the rally try fell short.

Ahston Morgan led the Starfires with nine points. Karen Bollenbacher and Tara Beitler each added four.

Danielle Gerdt and Amber Warrick shared the team high for Eastbrook with six points apiece.

South Adams also dropped the junior varsity game, 36-16. Jen Miller and Lyndsey each scored four points.
