Eels win three-team meet

Fort Recovery’s Eels finished the summer swim season with a win over Greenville and Arcanum in a three-way meet.
The Eels, finishing the season at 7-1, racked up 862 points to 583 for the Greenville Waves and 403 for the Arcanum Stingrays.
Lukas Petit finished first in three events for the Eels. He won the 11-12 boys short free, backstroke, and long free.
Double first-place finishers for the Eels included Sage Wendel in the 8-under boys short free and long free, Logan Ramirez in the 9-10 boys short free and backstroke, Dillon Ramirez in the 13-14 boys backstroke and long free, and Nolan Thobe in the 13-14 boys breaststroke and IM.
Scoring results from the girls competition were not available.
Rookie Girls
Optimist SB edged First Merchants 11-9 Tuesday in Rookie Girls action in Portland Junior League. Brewster topped REMC 5-1.
As a result, REMC will face First Merchants and Brewster will take on Optimist Friday in the league tournament.
Hilary Cox, Madison Reier, and Brianna Zorn each had four hits for Optimist. MaKaya Champ, Riah Champ, and Savannah Hamilton each had three hits for First Merchants. Madison Wenk, Lauren Brewster, and Lydia Keihn each had three hits for Brewster Electric in its win.[[In-content Ad]]
