EJ chooses cheer squad

Members of the 2010-11 East Jay Middle School cheerleading squad were selected after a try-out session June 12.

Eighth graders named to the squad are Leslie Ball, Rhianon Mills, Chelsea Russell, Chelsea Addington, Laurann Schoenlein, Sarah Newton and Carli Ostrowski. Seventh grade members are Alissa Culy, Kelsey Devoe, Miranda Hibbard, Mallory Marshall, Madison Miller, Erica Swingley, Sierra Trobridge, Menausha VanSkyock and Katie Witt.

Sydney Barber, Madison Brown, Britlyn Dues, Asha Eicher, Kayla Ferguson, Alexus Leitte, Samantha Link, Leearah Eldridge and Lexi Trobridge will be the sixth graders on the squad.

Westfall leads Sertech

Katie Westfall set the pace for Sertech Heating and Cooling in a 16-2 victory Thursday over Jay County REMC in Portland Junior League Minor softball.

Westfall doubled in the first inning and tripled in the fourth as part of a three-hit, two-run performance. Gracie Runkle added a triple and a home run as she scored twice.
