The East Jay sixth grade girls team capped its season Wednesday with a 25-18 victory over Muncie Northside.
Mariah Hornaday paced the Chiefs with team highs of nine points and seven rebounds. Danielle Wellman added eight points and seven boards, Kassi Hemmelgarn had seven rebounds and Megan May finished with two assists.
The team finished 9-1.
East Jay’s B team (5-3) got two points apiece from Randa Gillespie and Maria Murphy in a 14-4 defeat.
Montpelier tops Eagles
DUNKIRK — West Jay’s sixth grade boys team suffered a 30-22 defeat to Montpelier Wednesday. Dustin Selvey scored 10 points, and Chance Fuller had six.
Steven Scott and Carolton Fisher each scored six points as the B team won 10-8.[[In-content Ad]]
