DUNKIRK — Nine pins lifted the East Jay Middle School wrestling team to an 83-15 victory Thursday over host West Jay.
The Chiefs mostly controlled the lower weight classes, with Kaimen Sanders (82), Colten Compton (92), Ivan Hemmelgarn (97), Brent Englehardt (102) and A.J. Bryan (107) all winning by pin. Also adding pins for EJMS were Alex Stout (127), Matt Blackford (137), Andy Kohler (162) and Michael Williamson (HWT).
Graham Hianes (122) added a victory by a technical fall.
Mason Cochran (HWT) scored the fastest pin of the evening for West Jay with a win in 30 seconds. Tyler Hibbard (115) added a pin in 2 minutes, 24 seconds, and Jacob Geesaman (85) won by a 7-0 decision.

Stars top Bluffton

BERNE — The South Adams Middle School wrestling team picked up a 29-12 victory Thursday over the visiting Bluffton Tigers.
Turning in victories for the Starfires were Wyatt Miller, Chance Sprunger, Kam DeLong, Kody Coates, Gabe Schwartz, Isaiah Baumgartner, Kadin Gerber, Austin Dailey, Drew Pollard, Gage Conner, Taylor Cueller and Briar Goodwin. The win improved SAMS to 6-4.

McEwen leads WJ
MONTPELIER — West Jay’s sixth grade boys basketball team rolled to a 58-9 victory Thursday over Montpelier.
Blade McEwen led the dominant effort with 17 points. Cole Stigleman added 10 points for the Eagles (11-2).
In the B team game, Tyler Lowe, Blake Stewart and Austin Schlosser each had six points for WJMS in a 28-4 victory.[[In-content Ad]]
